What would be the ideal credit card to get for a first timer?

I want to apply for a credit card but i never had one. Any ideas on which i should apply?|||Credit card companies all have different types of cards. I suggest going to different credit card sites and read about each one that is offered. As a newbie, I suspect you will be looking for something with no annual fee, and ideally with a cash back feature, and a "grace period." That is, a card that doesn't charge any interest as long as you pay it off in full by the due date.

I like Discover Card's cashback feature, but be aware that Discover isn't accepted everywhere. Mastercard and Visa are more likely to be accepted most everywhere. Some of those cards have cash back features, as well, sometimes as "thank you point" options.

I suggest you build up a nice credit rating before getting a credit card. The better your credit rating, the lower your interest.

I have found that organizations like USAA have some of the consistently lowest rates around, while other companies waffle their rates a lot more. That is no guarantee of future performance, of course, just my experience. If you have military members somewhere in your family, you may be eligible for a membership, and thus for credit card privileges.

Find a bank that offers short term CD's for an amount you can afford to set aside for a few months, and borrow money against it, and make the payments at least as often as they are due, and always a bit early. If you don't have the money, maybe a family member that trusts you will let you use their CD as security so you can do this. Ideally, you shouldn't get a credit card until you have enough money to pay off whatever you charge on it, anyway. This is a piece of common sense advice that has been ignored by too many for too long.

Good luck!|||HSBC bank is an OK start just don't abuse it there strict bank on people with new credit witch i think is good cause you need that when your new also keep your balance low if you want to get more credit in the future also here an example lets say you get a limit of 300 with a fee of 50 dollars a year witch could be expected cause your new with credit only use 90 of credit at the max on any given month try your best to not ever use more than 25 % of you available credit an pay more than the minimum payment due each month usual a Classic visa or mater card|||HSBC will almost approve anyone! But watch out for all the fees!

Try carecredit.com it's a healthcare credit line. They approve 80% of people who apply. I've also heard a jewelry store credit card is pretty easy to get as well, but who really needs one of those!

There is only one way to use a credit card.

Charge a little something you need each month, and pay in full.

Carrying balances not only makes you poor by paying interest, it can hurt your chances of getting a good job.

In some cases it can destroy your entire life.

/|||beware of the scams out there while cc shopping|||Try Bank of None of the Above!

Credit Cards are stupid and can only cause you harm!
